Styles,Characters,Overall affect (Animation)

In this BLOG i will be looking at three different animations and will be talking about the Style,Characters and the over all affect it has on the audience.

Angelica Anaconda (Nineties Cartoon)

Angela  Anaconda was a nineties cartoon that ran for a very standard amount of time the animation style is very realistic in the sense that it uses images to create the animation the photographs of the characters and most of the scenery.

Also using a grey scale colour scheme on there skin bout keeping bout there clothes ands hair in colour to focus more the characters. Furthermore morphing the bodies of the characters so the face is the main viewing point making it stick to a certain theme. The theme being america in the Fifties as you can  see by the clothes and hairstyles.

The over all effect is comedy for a young age group from about five to eleven years of age  the animation is very childish and the use of comedy is CLEAN for children.

South Park (Unaired Pilot Episode)

South Park is a show universally known as a adult cartoon for its bad language and dark sense of humor started in the early nineties and is still going to this day however the method of the animation has changed dramatically over the years.

Originally south park was created with cut out characters and was positioned in certain way to where the characters were facing. The figures were moved bit by bit to make a motion although it looked poor it was a massive success.

The style is very amateur in the sense that the characters don't walk they instead just bob up and down and that is the way of moving the style in itself is very poor but it also looks well done it links to the dirty sense of things so it links with show. The colours are bright to mimic the idea of a kids cartoon but audiences would be fooled if they ever watched the show.

The over all affect is that its funny but quite dark as its a cartoon and quite graphic which is why its best to be adult cartoon.

The Hedgehog and The Fog

This animation is an award winning animation by a Russian animator the animation was quite early in animation but is one of the most beautiful and detailed animations i personally have seen.

The style of this animation is realistic unlike the other animations it has find grades of detail to every single object on screen it looks real and beautifully illustrated the colour scheme alone speaks for its self as its a mixture of beautiful colours that contrast well with each other and compliment each other very well.

The animation is also very smooth and breath taking considering how early on this is on the scale of animation compared to now.

The characters are very detailed and vary in different sizes which show the importance to the story and also feed information to the audience about the story. Furthermore the characters themselves are photographs of the animals as well as the scenery. The amount of images for each character to make the move would of been many as the characters turn from different directions and look different directions mimicking different movements and expressions.

The over all affect is a tense animation as its use of dark colours and fog to create scenes of tense moments and worry for the character mixed in with the music and expression with the use of colours and scenery it makes the audience feel for this little character.

One of my favorite animations personally it is amazing in every possible sense in beauty and in story.
